STATE FIELD ARCHERY ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY

 

 

The fourth regularly scheduled meeting of the State Field Archery Association of New Jersey for 2002 was held Friday evening July 12, 2002, at 8:05 pm.  The meeting was called to order by President Art Reimer.  Those participating in the meeting were Club representatives and interested Club members of the following Field Archery Clubs. ( indicated by a *).

There were 8 Clubs present. 

 

Guests and new BCRs:  Peg Callahan BCR 2 Garden State.  Lynn Murphy, guest Black Knight and Wa-Xo-Be.

 

The May minutes were accepted as printed  by a motion from Dover and a second from Lincoln Park.

 

 

 

OFFICER REPORTS:

 

Executive V.P.  James Mitchell

Jim signed the contract for the Garden State Outdoor show to be held in January of 2003 in the Raritan Center in Edison, NJ.  Jim is looking  for  presentation ideas and help at the show.  Jim made a motion to introduce a new SFAA membership card to replace the business card type.  The BCRs  voted to have the new membership card with a color logo printed.

 

V.P. Awards  Doug Joyce

Doug asked if the SFAA wants to continue with the present belt buckle that is awarded at the 3D  Bowhunter  shoot.  The BCR decided to continue with the present belt buckle until the supply is depleted.

  

V.P Field Archery   Al Liguori

Al  noted that this is the scheduling meeting and all is ready for the scheduling of shoots for the 2003 tournament year.

 

V.P.  Bow Hunting  Cheryl Mitchell

Cheryl distributed the proposed changes to the 2002-03 game codes, the proposals are enclosed with the minutes.

 

NFAA Director Art Reimer

Art noted that the Mid-Atlantic minutes are enclosed with the SFAA minutes and that since the Mids, Cape May has been added as a host club for the Indoor Mids in 2003.

 

 

Weekly Award   Claire  Reimer

Claire noted that the following  Clubs are  delinquent with their  payments for their shoot  money and reports:

Garden State               April  7, 2002

Garden State               April 28, 2002

Cape May                    May     5, 2002

Cape May                    June    2, 2002

Black Knight               June   30, 2002

Cape May                    July      7, 2002

·         Garden States owes the SFAA-NJ $23.50 for placement bars

If these delinquent fees are not paid by our September  meeting these Clubs will have their 2003 shoots cancelled from the schedule.

 

Black Knight noted that their “Big Foot” shoot is July 13-14, 2002.  Black Knight has just purchased 10 acres and hope to have a  new 3D range open next year.

 

Nominations for officers for 2003-04 will be accepted at the September  meeting of the SFAA.

 

Applications for the 3D marked distance championship to be held on Sept. 14&15, 2002, at Shongum were distributed at the meeting.

 

Garden State made a motion to change the Bowhunter Jamboree to a minimum of  30 targets and a maximum of 56 targets. The vote of  BCR  passed the motion.

 

 

There being no further business, a motion was made Dover to adjourn the meeting at  9:30 pm, second by Black Knight and carried.
