STATE FIELD ARCHERY ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY

The first regularly scheduled meeting of the State Field Archery Association of New Jersey will be held Friday evening January 21, 2000, at the Woodbridge Elks #2116 at 665 Rahway Ave. ( Hwy 514) in Woodbridge, NJ at 8 pm.

         STATE FIELD ARCHERY ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY

 

The sixth regularly scheduled meeting of the State Field Archery Association of New Jersey for 1999 was held Friday evening November 19, 1999 at 8:20 p.m.   The meeting was called to order by President Art Reimer.  Those participating in the meeting were Club representatives and interested Club members of the following Field Archery Clubs. (participating Clubs indicated by a  *.)

There were 9 Clubs present.

 

A motion was made by Shongum to accept the September minutes as printed, second by Lincoln Park and carried.

 

OFFICER REPORTS:

 

V.P. Field Archery – Chuck Bobrowski

Chuck noted that the Indoor State applications will be on the Website next month and applications will be mailed in bulk to the Clubs. 

 

V.P. Awards – Doug Joyce

Doug noted that the Outdoor State plaques are ready for distribution and he asked that when the BCR’s give out the plaques that they request the return of the plaque that was given to the archer at the tournament.

 

 V.P. Bow Hunting – Cheryl Mitchell

Cheryl distributed a hunting package to the BCR’s for their Clubs consisting of hunting regulation on baiting, and deer checking station closures.  All hunters should support bill A2549, contact your State Assemblyperson.

 

Chairperson Weekly Awards – Claire Reimer

Claire noted that placement bars have been ordered and the price of the bars have increased to $2.35 per bar.  Claire noted that the following Clubs are delinquent with their shoot money:

    Executive V.P.  - James Mitchell

    Jim distributed year 2000 booklets and pocket shoot schedules. Good job Jim.

 

NFAA Director – Art Reimer

1.      Art noted that the NFAA agenda meeting is February in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Agenda items for this meeting were distributed to the BCR’s to review with their Clubs and be prepared to vote on the items at our January 2000 meeting.

2.      Art noted that the locations of some of the Clubs holding the Indoor Mids were not published in this months Archery magazine but and the clubs that were omitted will be published in the next magazine. 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Suggestions to enhance participation at the Outdoor States:

Super senior class for archer’s 65 years of age.

Seniors shoot less targets.

Keep competition in shoot but have fun.

One day shoot consisting of 14 field, 14 hunter, 14 animal.

Change the month of the shoot.

Shoot 14 field, 14 hunter, 14 marked 3D.

Change the shoot to the handicap system.

Question to be included in the questionnaire “would you be inclined to attend the State            Championship if there was a monetary award instead of plaques/trophy”?

      

NEW BUSINESS:

 

First reading of Resolution: Scheduling sectional, state or regional championship shoots.  Second by Garden State.  After a discussion of the resolution, Wa-Xo-Be made a motion to table the resolution, second Cape May.

 

GOOD N WELFARE:  none

 

There being no further business, a motion was made by Shongum to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 pm, second by Garden State and carried.
